Flower Arranging Program at Laurelwood Arboretum

Gail Bassolino, President of the Pines Lake Garden Club, will present a floral design program on Wednesday, July 19 at 2 pm at the Knippenberg Center for Education at Laurelwood Arboretum, 725 Pines Lake.  The program is $25 for members of Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum and $35 for non-members. To register, go to www.laurelwoodabotreum.org.

“Gone are the days when you buy a mixed bouquet from the store and plop it in a vase,” Bassolino said.  “By using cuttings from your garden and grocery-store bought flowers, you can make a fabulous floral design.”   She will give tips on where to buy, how to buy and how to arrange store-bought flowers and cuttings from the garden.  She will use eco-friendly flower arranging techniques for the designs and some unique recycled containers.

Bassolino is a National Garden Club Accredited Flower Show Judge and a member of the Floral Impressions Guild.  This past March she was a judge of Petite Design at the Philadelphia Flower Show.
