Outdoor Opportunities

Outdoor volunteers work to maintain and beautify Laurelwood Arboretum. Some volunteers welcome visitors and serve as tour guides.

Work in the Gardens

April through October

Work and learn while restoring and maintaining Laurelwood’s gardens.
Tuesdays through Fridays and some Saturdays 9:00 AM to noon.
Teenagers meet on Wednesdays 9:00 AM to noon.
Meet in the pavilion. Bring gloves, your favorite garden tools, and water.

Site Management and Construction

Work with the site manager and other volunteers to improve the arboretum’s bridges, buildings, drainage and infrastructure and help maintain our vehicles.

Share your love of the arboretum. Greet visitors and offer information and materials.

Winter Greenhouse Team

During the winter months, help grow plants for the plant sale, garden restoration, special display gardens and educational activities.

Scout Programs

Assist Girl and Boy Scout groups with merit badge programs and other outdoor activities.
