When is the arboretum open?

Laurelwood Arboretum grounds are open every day of the year, 8 am to dusk, except in emergency conditions.
The Knippenberg Center for Education is open every day April through October, noon to 4 pm, except Mondays. Its restrooms are open every day April through October, weekdays 9 am to 3 pm and weekends 11 am to 5 pm.

Is there an entrance fee?

No, but donations are always welcome.

Where can I park?

There are two parking lots, one on Vale Road and one on Pines Lake Drive West.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes. Dogs must be leashed at all times and kept on the pathways. Dog waste must be carried out or placed in the appropriate receptacles in the parking lots.

Is the arboretum handicapped-accessible?

There are handicapped-accessible parking spaces and restrooms. The Sensory Garden is designed with wide
pathways that can be easily negotiated by wheelchairs.

When I get to Laurelwood, is there information about how to get around?

Check out our cell phone tours! Additionally Self-Guided Tour & Map brochures are available at the notice boards in the parking lots. During operating hours, The Knippenberg Center is staffed with volunteers who can answer any questions.

Wayne Township owns the property. It is maintained and managed by the non-profit organization Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum.

Do you offer tours?

Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum offers occasional free public tours during the season. Check the website for dates. Private guided tours can be scheduled as well.

Can I plan a wedding in the arboretum?

Wedding ceremonies for 25 people or less can be arranged.

Is the arboretum available for private events?

The policy of Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum, as adopted by the Board of Directors, is not to allow any private events in the arboretum, including birthday, anniversary and other celebrations, memorial services, and religious observances, with the exception of wedding ceremonies and photo shoots where the unique plantings and landscapes in the arboretum provide beautiful backdrops and will be featured in the photos.

What about group visits?

In light of our LIMITED PARKING FACILITIES – NO BUSES ALLOWED
Group visits are limited to 25 or fewer people.
An Application for a Group Visit must be submitted and approved at least 2 weeks prior to the Visit.

Laurelwood Arboretum is a Wayne Township public park situated alongside Pines Lake, a private residential community. Please be mindful of the local neighborhood.
