The kick-off event for The Sculpture Trail at Laurelwood Arboretum will be held on Saturday, March 22, from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Broadfoot & Broadfoot Gallery, 819 Main Street in Boonton, New Jersey. Guests can shake off the winter doldrums with live music, drinks, hors d’oeuvres and contemporary art at one of New Jersey’s premier art galleries.

The March kickoff is the first in a series of fundraisers for The Sculpture Trail. Advance-purchase tickets for the reception are $50 (per person) or $60 at the door. Early registration is suggested, as space is limited. Tickets can be purchased online at www.laurelwoodarboretum.org/scultpure-trail-tickets

The Sculpture Trail, part of the continuing Art at the Arboretum series sponsored by Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum, is a multi-year project to benefit the arboretum. The Sculpture Trail is being curated by Scott Broadfoot of Broadfoot & Broadfoot.  A GoFundMe page has been set up for donations to help cover installation and signage expenses for the project. The Sculpture Trail, opening in October 2020 at Laurelwood Arboretum, will feature more than 15 sculptures by prominent artists that will serve to enhance the park by complementing its landscape and serene setting.  The sculptures will be available for sale, with a percentage of the proceeds donated to Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization.  The first of the sculptures, Brickhead Iyemoja, by James Tyler Sculptor, is already in place in the arboretum.
