September is National Yoga Month. To mark the occasion, the popular Chair Yoga program at Laurelwood Arboretum will resume with autumn sessions offered on Wednesdays from September 12 through October 24 from 11 am to noon. The session will take place indoors at the air conditioned Knippenberg Center for Education at Laurelwood Arboretum, 725 Pines Lake Drive West, Wayne. There is a $5 fee per class for members of Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum and a $10 fee per class for nonmembers.
The classes will be led by Robin Abrett, a Kripalu Yoga teacher with advanced certification and trainings. “No experience is necessary to participate in the class, and there is no need to get up and down from the floor,” Robin said. “Chair yoga allows you to work slowly with an understanding of any injuries you may have. We will be working in socks or barefoot, and you should wear loose, comfortable clothing.”
In addition to her professional activities, Robin is a members of the Board of Directors of Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum, which is sponsoring the classes. She is also chairperson of the organization’s tour guide program.
