Festival of Friends To Feature Silent Auction

Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum’s Festival of Friends 15th Anniversary celebration is scheduled for Saturday, September 15 from 5 pm to 7:30 pm at Laurelwood Arboretum, 725 Pines Lake Drive West, Wayne.  A feature of the event will be a Silent Auction of carefully selected items. These include sought-after tickets to Yankee baseball games, tickets to the New Jersey Symphony orchestra, memberships to the Wayne YMCA  and LA Fitness, a tree from Canete Landscaping, fall cleanup by Monello, painter for a day from Spectrum,  gift certificate for Yoga classes, and gift certificates from Gary’s Wine & Marketplace, Trader Joe’s, W’s Grill, Vila Verde, Positano and others. The Festival will be prefaced by the dedication of a Founders’ Garden to honor the eight people who established the Friends organization. Then, guests can enjoy hors d’oeuvres by Viaggio Ristorante of Wayne accompanied by wine, beer and nonalcoholic beverages. Jazz pianist Gary Mancinelli will entertain on the piano. On display will be an exhibit of Laurelwood-inspired paintings and photographs by local artists and photographers.
