Nature’s Beauty, an exhibit featuring paintings by Pennsylvania artists Bill and Mary Joachim, will be on display at the Knippenberg Center at Laurelwood Arboretum, 725 Pines Lake Drive West, Wayne, from September 2 through September 29.

An opening reception will be held on Sunday, September 13 from 2:30 to 4 p.m.  Admission is free, and the public is invited to meet the artists and enjoy the exhibit.  The Knippenberg Center is open Tuesday through Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. for visitors who wish to view the exhibition during its month-long run.

Bill and Mary Joachim draw inspiration from the natural world, creating artwork that reflects their appreciation for people, plants, and animals.  Bill, a retired attorney, works in both pastel and acrylic.  He studies pastel painting with Jackie Meyerson at the Baum School of Art in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and acrylic painting with internationally recognized artist Hong Foo of Schnecksville, Pennsylvania.  Mary, who is also an attorney, discovered pastel painting after retiring, building on a lifelong passion for photography.  Bill, who is also an accomplished woodworker, handcrafts the custom frames for Mary’s paintings.

Nature’s Beauty is part of the Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum’s monthly series of art and photography exhibitions. The nonprofit organization partners with Wayne Township to preserve, enhance, and promote the 30-acre Laurelwood Arboretum.
