Penstemon, or beardtongue, has bright red bell-shaped flowers near. They grow 24-30 inches tall in full to part sun, in average to dry soils.  It is drought tolerant. Blooming in April to June, you will enjoy watching bees enter their bells and know that you are helping them survive! It has a clean, neat, basal rosette when not in bloom.
