Asarum canadense – Wild ginger is a lovely ground cover with attractive, heart-shaped leaves. It spreads slowly to neatly cover the ground in shade to part shade gardens with a maintenance free plant. It has unusual flowers that mostly go unnoticed because they are hidden at the base of the plant. It can handle some drought once established.
