The New Jersey State Chrysanthemum Society will demonstrate how to grow and show chrysanthemums at a workshop at Laurelwood Arboretum on Thursday, May 30 at 4:30 pm. Registration by January 19 is required so that the society can secure cuttings for the workshop.
Registrants will learn how to grow show quality mums. The workshop will cover soil composition, fertilization, light requirements, insect control, pinching, where to grow mums, overwintering and showing mums. Participants will pot up and take home six cuttings and may display the full-grown mums at the Chrysanthemum Society Show at Laurelwood Arboretum, October 12 to 13.
The fee is $30 for members of Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum and $35 for nonmembers. To register, go to laurelwoodarboretum.org
