The upcoming GreenQuest program for students in grades 2 through 6 will be held on Wednesday, May 24 from 4 pm to 5:30 pm at the Knippenberg Center for Education at Laurelwood Arboretum, 725 Pines Lake Drive in Wayne. It will focus on birds. Registration opens May 1 at www.laurelwoodarboretum.org and is limited to 20 students.
The free monthly program is sponsored by Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum. During the environmentally themed series of 90-minute sessions, children will learn about trees, birds, wetlands life, fireflies, butterflies and other pollinators, STEM in nature, and bats and spiders. Registration opens on the first day of each month at www.laurelwoodarboretum.org and is limited to 20 students per session.
The GreenQuest Nature Club is led by Aadhith Balaji, a junior at Wayne Hills High School. He is a member of the Wayne Hills Environmental Club and led the 2022 GreenQuest Nature Club at the Wayne Public Library
