Earth Day 2023 will be celebrated in Wayne at Laurelwood Arboretum, 725 Pines Lake Drive West on Saturday, April 22 from 12 pm to 4 pm, rain or shine. A free shuttle service will be on hand to bring people from the Pines Lake School parking area at 511 Pines Lake Drive to the arboretum.
The free community celebration will feature fun for the entire family with tours, music, nature crafts and art projects for children and story time for tots, nature-themed raffle items and more. There will also be a native tree sapling giveaway. Passaic County Master Gardeners will be in attendance. A representative of Bartlett Tree Experts will be on hand to share his tree maintenance expertise. More than ten nonprofit community organizations, and environmental groups including the Wayne Environmental Commission will present educational displays and distribute information.
The Earth Day celebration is hosted by Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum and sponsored by Glenwild Garden Center & Nursery of Bloomingdale and Bartlett Tree Experts of Denville.
