Saxophonist Abel Mireles and LatiNext will perform Latin jazz selections at Laurelwood Arboretum, 725 Pines Lake Drive in Wayne, on Thursday, August 17 at 6:30 pm during a FREE concert. The rain date is August 31 at 6:30 pm. Parking arrangements has been made at Pines Lake School; shuttles to and from the park will be running beginning at 5:30 pm.
The concert will be held at the arboretum near the sculpture, “Robbers Roost,” located at site number one (behind the gazebo), a featured work of A Sculpture Trail. Attendees should bring a blanket or lawn chair. Comfortable footwear is recommended as the terrain is hilly and uneven. A limited number of golf carts will be available to transport people with walking difficulties. No food or alcoholic beverages are permitted. The event will be livestreamed. Abel Mireles is gaining a reputation as one of the most promising saxophonists of his generation across the New York metropolitan area. He is an accomplished musician, composer, educator and entrepreneur. Mireles received a Masters Degree in Jazz Performance from William Paterson University.
