Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum will host an exhibit of artwork from all 14 Wayne Township public school students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The work will be on display at the Knippenberg Center for Education at Laurelwood Arboretum, 725 Pines Lake Drive in Wayne from June 9 through June 19.
The Opening Reception for the exhibit is scheduled for Sunday, June 9 from 2:30 pm to 4 pm. Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend. For anyone who wishes to see the exhibit at another time, the Knippenberg Center is open Tuesdays through Sundays from 12 noon to 4 pm.
The exhibit showcases student achievement at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. There will also be an outdoor installation of student artwork on the grounds of the arboretum. In addition, this year’s exhibit will include a district-wide TV video montage produced by Wayne Hills and Wayne Valley seniors. The TV production will be unveiled to the community as a celebration of the students, with interviews that provide reflections on the arts across student academic experiences.
The district art program faculty has diverse expertise in illustration, graphic design, animation, photography, installation, and innovation technology. There will be a sampling of faculty art on display to inspire the students, families, and community with a rare collection.
