The fourth week in April includes both Earth Day and Arbor Day. Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum invites adults and children of all ages to celebrate these events at a special Arbor Day weekend. On Saturday, April 27, and Sunday, April 28, free native New Jersey tree saplings will be given to arboretum visitors. Laurelwood Arboretum is located at 725 Pines Lake Road in Wayne.

A “Tree Story” hour for children ages 5 to 9 is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, from 1 to 2 pm at the Knippenberg Center for Education at Laurelwood. The story hour is free and open to the public.

On Sunday, April 28, at 12:30 pm, trained volunteer guides will offer free Notable Trees of Laurelwood tours on foot or in a motorized vehicle.
