Richard Stillman and Friends will perform “The Spirit of Vaudeville” at the Knippenberg Center for Education at Laurelwood Arboretum on Sunday, July 15 at 4 pm. The arboretum is located at 725 Pines Lake Drive West in Wayne. This musical variety show celebrates the vaudevillians of the jazz age. The tale is told through banjo strumming, tap dancing, ukulele and mandolin solos, and Charleston dances.

Stillman is an actor, musician, singer, tap dancer and storyteller who plays multiple instruments. He has performed on Broadway, at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC and in theaters from New Jersey to Alaska. He has played at the New Jersey Folk Festival, opened for Jim Henson and Kermit the Frog, and performs every year at the New Jersey Storytelling Festival as a musical storyteller. “The Spirit of Vaudeville” won the Best Concert Award at the United Solo Theater Fest in New York City.

The concert is sponsored by Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum and the Ira A. Roschelle, MD Family Foundation. All donations will go toward educational programs and community activities at Laurelwood. The requested donation is $15 per person or $35 for a family of three or more.
