Master Gardener Joseph Di Giacomo, Chairperson of the Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum Rhododendron Study Team, with his display about Laurelwood’s Legacy of Hybrid Rhododendrons. In a special program at the arboretum’s two-day rhododendron festival, he spoke about the role Laurelwood’s founders, Dorothy and John Knipppenberg, played in hybridizing rhododendrons on the East Coast and about the arboretum’s renowned collection.
