This spring, Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum (FOLA) will dedicate the Knippenberg Center for Education at Laurelwood Arboretum. This beautiful new building will welcome visitors and host a menu of educational programs and activities for the Wayne community. The complex will include an educational greenhouse and Native Plant Demonstration Garden to enhance the opportunities for innovative programs and activities.
FOLA has launched a fundraising campaign in conjunction with the upcoming dedication. “This is our first major effort to reach out to area businesses for support,” said Alice Moskowitz, FOLA President. “We are looking forward to hosting many exciting educational programs and acitivites for the community at the Knippenberg Center.”
To commemorate the dedication of the Knippenberg complex, FOLA is preparing a multipage Dedication Brochure. The publication will highlight the history of the arboretum, the role of our dedicated volunteers, and upcoming programs and activities. The brochure will include display copy from businesses and supporters in Wayne and surrounding communities. “This will provide an excellent opportunity for area businesses to support FOLA and at the same time reach out to a targeted audience that traditionally supports and patronizes friends of our community,” Alice said.
Funds raised through this effort will be used to develop programs and activities at the Knippenberg Center for Education and will allow FOLA to continue to preserve and beautify Laurelwood Arboretum. Anyone interested in supporting FOLA by donating to the Knippenberg Center Dedication Brochure can call 973-202-9579 or send an email to dedicationbrochure@laurelwoodarboretum.org.
