The Annual Meeting of Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum (FOLA) will be held on Monday, November 17 at 7 p.m. in the Wayne Public Library Meeting Room, 461 Valley Road, Wayne. All FOLA members, as well as guests and members of the public, are invited to attend.
Jim McHugh, president of FOLA, will talk about this year’s accomplishments and report on the Knippenberg Center for Education and the Educational Greenhouse. Elaine Fogerty, Executive Director, will discuss the horticultural status of Laurelwood Arboretum and the work that has been done by the volunteers. There will also be short presentations by FOLA committee chairpersons. FOLA members will then elect a slate of officers and members of the Board of Directors for 2015-2017.
At the conclusion of the meeting, there will also be an opportunity for people to ask questions and exchange ideas.
Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum is a volunteer non-profit conservancy whose mission is to preserve, promote and improve this unique naturalized property in partnership with Wayne Township. FOLA is funded by membership dues, plant sales and donations from individuals and businesses. FOLA welcomes new members, volunteers, school groups, students, scouts and people with special skills who would like to be part of this organization.
