Your garden can still have color late in the season with this lovely, low growing, tough, drought-tolerant perennial. It grows a maximum of 2 feet high, spreading to about 3 feet, and is covered in lovely lavender colored flowers late in the season when little else is in bloom. Use it in full sun at the front of the border. Asters are one of the most important flowers in the garden to help bees and butterflies.
