Stretch your body, relax your mind and relieve your tensions at a series of 1-hour gentle chair yoga classes on Wednesdays at 10 am beginning on April 10 and continuing weekly through November. The sessions will be held at the Knippenberg Center for Education at Laurelwood Arboretum, 725 Pines Lake Drive West, Wayne. There is a $5 donation per class for members of Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum and a $10 per class for nonmembers. A 10-session pass for members is $40.
The chair yoga classes will be led by Robin Abrett, a Kripalu Yoga teacher with advanced certification and trainings. She is passionate about sharing this healing, stress-reducing practice. “No experience is necessary to participate in the class, and there is no need to get up and down from the floor,” Robin said. “Chair yoga allows you to work slowly with an understanding of any injuries you may have. We will be working in socks or barefoot, and you should wear loose, comfortable clothing.”
In addition to her professional activities, Robin is a members of the Board of Directors of Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum, which is sponsoring the classes. She is also chairperson of the organization’s tour guide program.
