There are 7 pedestrian gates that are always unlocked.
The most commonly used are located on Home Hill to the right

High Line Visit

Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum Board members, back row: Carol Palmer-Yomtov, Richard Santoro, Clelia DeSouter; front row: Georgette Moesch, Linda Wescott, Tina Woiski
and
Bonnie Joachim

On September 30, a group of Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum board members visited The High Line, a New York City public park. They met with board members of Friends of the High Line and exchanged information on a wide range of interests including horticultural practices, membership and programs. The High Line, like Laurelwood Arboretum, is managed by a public/private partnership. We exchanged ideas about how to navigate this type of
management. High Line board members plan to visit Laurelwood next Spring.

Planning for Next Season

Winter is planning time at Laurelwood Arboretum! The pause from gardening and other activities gives us the perfect opportunity to prepare for the 2026 season. We’ll be discussing programs and events, fundraising, membership, plant sales, visitor experience and greeters.

Join us and become a “behind the scenes” volunteer by sharing  your ideas, expertise and enthusiasm.

Our most immediate openings are for a Membership Chairperson and a Program Chairperson.

To learn more about these roles, please contact us at

If you’re interested in getting involved, send an email to
